Mississippi Bonding Company has been a family-owned bail bonding business since 1967 — nearly six decades of answering the phone when Mississippi families needed help most. Paul Newman, a Professional Bail Agent, founded the company in Jackson. His lifelong partner and wife, Ruth Newman, was the heart of everything they built together.
Paul and Ruth Newman built this company on one rule: treat every person who walks through the door with dignity and respect — no matter the circumstances. That commitment led them to help found several state and national bail agent associations, and earned them both induction into the Professional Bail Agents of the United States (PBUS) Hall of Fame. That same respect guides every call we answer today.

Today, Mississippi Bonding Company is led by Professional Bail Agent Russell Gene Newman (MID license 7900482) — a bail agent since 1977 with credentials few in the country can match. Gene served as President of the Professional Bail Agents of the United States (PBUS) in 1996–97, was named national “Bail Agent of the Year” by PBUS in 1999, and was inducted into the PBUS Hall of Fame in 2007. He is a past President and current Treasurer of the Mississippi Bail Agents Association (MBAA) and a Master Certified Bail Agent (MCBA).
