Bail Bond Payment

HOW TO PAY

Payment Methods & Financing

Mississippi Bonding Company works with families in difficult moments. We offer multiple payment options and flexible arrangements — because getting your loved one home matters more than paperwork.

  1. PAYMENT

Cash, Check, or Credit Card — We Make It Easy

Mississippi Bonding Company accepts cash, checks, and all major credit cards. Payment is made before release — and we'll walk you through every step.

Credit card is the fastest path to getting your loved one home. Payment and paperwork can be completed by fax, so distance is no barrier. It's the go-to choice for parents of college students or any family member who isn't local. If you're not sure which option fits your situation, call us now — 601-948-4105. We'll figure it out together.

  2. FINANCING

    No-Interest Bail Financing

For many families, coming up with even 10% of the bail amount all at once is hard. We offer payment plan options — because getting your loved one home shouldn't hinge on having the full amount in your account right now.

You don't need perfect credit to qualify. Generally, you need to have credit and use it responsibly. Your agent will consider length of residency, employment, arrest history, and your realistic ability to make payments.

When we work out a payment plan together, be honest about your budget. A plan you can actually keep is better than one that falls apart. A down payment is required as your commitment to the remainder.

One important thing to understand: if the defendant fails to appear in court, the person who signed the bail contract is responsible for the full bail amount. Only sign for someone you trust to return to court. Not sure if a payment plan is right for you? Call 601-948-4105 — a licensed agent will walk you through it, no pressure.

  3. COLLATERAL

Real Estate Liens and Collateral Bonds

When collateral is required for a bail bond, it can be taken in the form of a real estate lien. All property owners must sign the lien, and the property should carry equity. Cash collateral may be required for non-resident defendants.

Real estate liens are most common on high-dollar bonds — $50,000 or more — or when risk factors apply: few community ties, short work history, or similar circumstances. The lien gives the defendant a strong reason to appear in court; they know a family member has put their home on the line.

Mississippi law requires the bail bond company to return all collateral and release all liens once the defendant's case is completed. Contact your agent as soon as the case closes — the lien releases only after the agent receives court confirmation. Questions about collateral? Call 601-948-4105. We'll explain exactly what applies to your situation.

  4. BAIL COST

The Cost of Bail in Mississippi

Bail Fees Are Set by State Law — Not by the Bondsman

Mississippi bail bond premiums are governed by Statute 83-39-25. The premium is a non-refundable percentage of the total bail amount: ten percent (10%) or $100.00, whichever is greater — except when the defendant lives outside Mississippi or faces a capital offense, in which case the premium is fifteen percent (15%) or $100.00, whichever is greater. There is also a processing fee of $50.00 per bond. Example: on a $1,000.00 bail, the fee is $100.00 plus the $50.00 processing fee — a total of $150.00.

The Sheriff's department charges a separate $25.00 per bond, paid directly to them, not to the bail bond company. Some courts add additional fees on the defendant's side as well.

Mississippi Bonding charges nothing beyond what state statute requires. No extra finance charges. No hidden fees. No taxes on top.

A word of caution: bail bond companies advertising 5% fees or "cheap bail bonds" are violating Mississippi Law. Any company offering these rates is either acting illegally or hiding a payment plan in the fine print. These "price-cutting" agents do whatever it takes to win your business — and then sometimes surrender the bond at the first opportunity, forcing your family to post another one. If a price sounds too low, call us at 601-948-4105. We'll give you the straight facts — no pressure.

  5. LICENSING

Every Agent is Licensed by the State

A Mississippi bail agent is licensed by the Mississippi Department of Insurance and legally authorized to secure your loved one's release. The premium is paid up-front in most cases; credit-worthy clients may qualify for exceptions. When you call Mississippi Bonding, you speak with a licensed agent who knows Mississippi law and will treat your family with respect.

  6. NO COLLATERAL

No Collateral Needed for Most Bonds

In most cases, we offer "signature bonds" — no collateral required. A qualified indemnitor's signature is all it takes. We require collateral only on bonds over $50,000 or in other high-risk situations such as non-resident defendants. If collateral is ever required, Mississippi law guarantees its full return when the case closes.

Unsure whether your situation requires collateral? Call 601-948-4105 right now — we'll tell you in plain terms what to expect.

  7. PAYMENT PLANS

    Flexible Payment Plans

Payment is made before the defendant is released. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover — as well as cash and check.

We also offer flexible payment options to ease the financial pressure of a sudden, large expense. To qualify, the Indemnitor (the person signing for the defendant) needs good credit, steady employment, and/or Mississippi homeownership.

For qualified customers, we can arrange easy, no-cost financing. Call 601-948-4105 now — we answer 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A licensed agent will walk you through exactly what payment option fits your situation.
